Barbara Hettle

Barbara HettleBarbara Hettle has been an educational consultant for over ten years and specializes in working with homeschool families. She helps families imagine, create, and successfully implement custom educational plans designed to match the unique needs and abilities of their children.

Passionate about education, Barbara’s background includes working in curriculum development, tutoring, and teaching.  She never expected to be a homeschooling parent but decided to try it “just for kindergarten” and ultimately continued through her child’s high school graduation. As a veteran homeschooler, she founded Homeschool Success and guides families as they homeschool through high school.

At The Amend Group, Barbara supports elementary and middle school families as they explore educational alternatives including full time or part time homeschooling or afterschool enrichment. Areas of focus include selecting curriculum, creating records and documentation, making the most of community resources, building positive habits, developing the whole child, and easing transitions when beginning or concluding homeschooling. Above all, she focuses on strategies to make learning enjoyable for the whole family.

Barbara holds a graduate Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA and has guided public, private, and homeschooled students from across the US in navigating the college admissions process. Special areas of experience include working with students who are gifted, twice exceptional, or who have complex planning needs. She is a member of the Higher Educational Consultants of America and the Kentucky Association for College Admissions Counseling and volunteers with organizations assisting gifted and first generation students.
