Jennifer R. Aldarondo, Ph.D.

Jennifer Aldarondo, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who has been practicing in the state of Kentucky for over 10 years, specializing in working with families and in the comprehensive assessment of children across the developmental continuum. Over the years, Dr. Aldarondo has conducted educational and mental health assessments for a range of stages of development including early childhood, school age, adolescence, and young adults; with the goal of addressing educational, social, and emotional issues. Dr. Aldarondo also has experience in treating developmental, behavioral, and emotional issues, and she has worked and trained in various settings such as schools, community mental health, juvenile detention school based settings, inpatient settings and university based clinics.

Dr. Aldarondo's areas of interest include: helping children and adolescents reach their full potential; addressing social and emotional needs to enhance learning; reducing anxiety; improving attention, concentration, and motivation; navigating peer and family relationships; and assessing exceptional learners.

Dr. Aldarondo worked at the University of Kentucky Center on Trauma and Children for 11 years prior to transitioning into private practice with The Amend Group. She holds a master’s degree from Mississippi State University in Clinical Psychology, and a doctorate from Indiana University in School Psychology. She completed an internship in general psychology at Madison State Hospital in Madison, Indiana, with a post-doctorate year at Cummins Mental Health Center in Lafayette, Indiana. She was licensed at the master’s and doctoral level in Indiana before moving to Kentucky. She has presented at national conferences regarding her research on standardized performance assessment in the schools, and the development of a rating scale to address peer relationships of elementary school children. She taught undergraduate classes focused on issues of special education and educational psychology at Purdue and Indiana University. While at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Aldarondo engaged in research and presentations to further examine issues related to ADHD, trauma, child maltreatment, and parental responsiveness. She also helped develop a training module for providers of early childhood consultation services across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
